Happy Belated Mother's Day!

I know I'm a bit late; lol. But, I had started to blog on Mother's Day but had to stop for a reason that I can't remember about, now! I do remember what I was attempting to write: how Mother's Day seems like a day for older mothers; mothers whose children are grown with children of their own. Think about it: as much as real mothers do, and they only get one day of appreciation? There should be a mother's month or something like that!

Seriously; what did you do for your mother this past Sunday? You probably cooked her breakfast, gave her flowers, balloons and a card; maybe a gift, took her out to eat for dinner and that was it. Unfortunately, that was all that we did: Mother's Day this year snuck up on us too quickly! It was weird; one day, I looked up and was like, "Holy crap; Mother's Day is this Sunday?!" So, my stepfather cooked breakfast, my mom stayed in her room, doing crossword puzzles and watched TV and I cooked her favorite dinner. A few years ago, my brother and I finally gave her a mother's ring (you know, the ring with the children's birthstones) and she was overly content with that. After that, we had no idea how to top that gift! Well, I guess giving her grandchildren would do that but I can't have children right now and my brother; I don't know but him and his wife haven't been blessed yet, as well.

So, anyway; I am proud to announce that in the early hours of Tuesday morning, I completed my first project for this blog. Yes, Tigger is outlined and completed! So, now I have to move on to the next project, which is going to be one that is already halfway completed: it is a cross stitch of two friends called Great Minds Think Alike. I saw it in the store and thought about my good friend, Jen when I saw the picture: it's a cross stitch of a black and a white girl. I had never seen anything like it and decided to do that one and give it to her. That was nearly six months ago! SO... I think it's high time that one gets finished!

So let's see: I started this blog back at the end of April and it is now May 12th. It took me, what, two and a half weeks to complete Tigger? This one should only take me the same amount of time. Let's see if I can make the deadline!
