Has It Been a Year??
That's just crazy that it's been almost a year since my last post and I still have no followers :( Oh well; I knew that I would be posting blogs just for my health!
So, let's catch up! The last time I posted, I was enjoying Philly. We left on Sunday but before, I got to enjoy a few of the remaining sites downtown. I also found myself inside the Field House, watching the various NFL games as well as the beginning of the Titans/Cowboys game. That was October.
November, my husband and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary. He took me to Tides, a fancy restaurant where we enjoyed good food, a semi-private setting and even an anniversary balloon they had set up at the table! My sister-in-law, Ashley did my make-up and my husband gave me this look all night that I really, REALLY enjoyed seeing! For Thanksgiving, instead of doing the traditional, we went 45 minutes out to a buffet. Best... idea... EVER! There was no need to worry about getting food done, cleaning up the dishes and especially, figuring out where to put the leftover food! My mom too much didn't like it but everyone else did!
December saw us finally achieve one of our dreams: I remember posting that we needed 4 points for our credit score. Well, doing what they asked us to do saw us exceed those 4 points immensely and land our very own home. Three bedroom, four bath, basement town home. We officially moved in on the 9th of December. During the rest of that month had us going through hell with the HOA with the water heater alone! I was starting to regret jumping into moving into this community; something told me that building an entire unit of 4 town homes in only 70 days was a bit rushing it but I never would have thought that it would cause so many problems! We has a small Christmas and a loud, drunken New Year's Eve party!
Nothing major happened in January or February. In March, I hosted Ashley's baby shower which turned out to be a nice turnout. There was a falling out between her and one of our friends due to a misunderstanding: because the majority of Ashley's friends were childless, I posted the event on Facebook with the rule of no children allowed. It was nothing against those who had children but me and Ashley already knew that there would be nothing for them to do and this event was supposed to be all about her and the coming of her pride and joy: there would be no time for those with children to attempt to watch their kids while trying to enjoy themselves. Well, my good friend decided to surprise Ashley by showing up from North Carolina... with her son! By the time I had posted the message, she was already on the way. Our other friend took offense and honestly blew it completely out of proportion. So, that was broken.
April~ towards the end of the month, Ashley decided to go to the emergency room because of... well, I can't remember the initial reason for us going but after waiting a couple of hours, the doctors stated that there was no need to worry about the initial reason. However, her blood pressure was still a little high and we were told to go upstairs to what I call the "pregnancy ward" just for safety measures. We went in at 4 in the morning, we both fell asleep and around 8, the nurse came in and said: "Your blood pressure is not going down. We're going to have to induce labor." Long story short: 4 days after that, Aysha-Marie Jones was born on April 28th. I had been having a lot of problems dealing with Ashley being pregnant and I really wanted to exclude myself from everything. But, it was pretty hard seeing that not only am I her sister-in-law but her best friend. I didn't want to be in there while she gave birth but they needed someone to record it. I couldn't believe that I stayed the whole time but.. seeing an actual live birth is an amazing thing to witness. I cried when she was born; it was the simple thought of someone gave this tiny person life... right before my eyes. Truly breath-taking!
May~ I really can't remember what we did for Mother's Day or my mom's birthday! Or my brother's for that matter! I think that he was just fine with having his newborn daughter around him as his present!
June~ it was actually a fail month for it to be my birthday month. I made plans on having a Luau for my birthday and went above and beyond to make it happen. Problem was: not a soul showed up. Not a one. It showed who my true friends were.
July~ 2 1/2 month old Aysha-Marie saw her first fireworks on the 4th and she enjoyed them! It was just the women with our friend Jen out on the campus of St. Mary's College. Nothing special.
August~ my husband finally turned 30. My friend from North Carolina still gets a kick out of calling him a "young man", or a "kid" because her, myself and her husband are all at least 4 years older than him! We joke that even in our 80s, he will be referred to as a "minor"! LOL
September~ wow, even though it was just last month... I can't remember anything special happening! So, I guess we're up to date! Aysha-Marie, or "Mouse" as I call her, is growing faster than she should which is a good thing! The other month, Ashley took her to the doctors and made a note that she was screaming at people (not crying but a playful scream). The doctor said that it was normal... for a 6 month old. Mouse was 4 months old during that visit! The doctor also said that she is tall for her age and looks like she will be a tall young lady. Right now, she is suffering from the start of an ear infection but due to her mother being a first-time mom and worried about every single thing, she caught it just in time!
I should be getting some sleep because I have to drive mom and baby to Waldorf in the early afternoon: Ashley's parents are going to the beach and invited her and the baby along for about a week. As you can see, there has been no word on any of my projects because I have been busy with a lot of other things. I reread some past posts and that 2nd project I was talking about... after the move, I can't find it! LOL So, I guess the second project will be this cross-stitch that I had started working on a couple of months before Mouse was born... which looks as if it will never become completed! LOLOLOLOL We'll see...
That's all for now. Excited that my Titans will be playing the Steelers this coming Sunday... with a possibility of no Big Ben! We beat the Ravens easier than I had expected and the Ravens absolutely dogged the Steelers when they played them! I know that it is wishful thinking but let's just end it with I hope things go well for my Titans!
